Mr. Krishnan Iyer and Mrs. Uma Iyer

Mr. Krishnan Iyer is a Chartered Accountant and worked for a Multinational Company for 12 years and retired as a Chief Financial Officer of the subsidiary of a German Multinational Company. Mr. Iyer divides his time between Radha Gopinath Temple and Mayapur Chandrodaya Temple and assists in the finances and administrative services of both the temples. Along with his wife, Mrs. Uma Iyer who is also a Chartered Accountant, they are auditors for the International Bhaktivedanta Book Trust.

Mrs. and Mr. Iyer embraced a life of spirituality in the year 1992 and both of them formally accepted Radhanath Swami as their spiritual preceptor in year 1992 and 1995 respectively. They both are serving as Counselors for the congregation at Radha Gopinath Temple and are part of the core team of the Marriage Board and the Grihasta committee.

They have a son, Rishabh Iyer, who just graduated from IIT Bombay and is going to Seattle for further studies.

For the benefit of those skeptical minds that complain of such a Vedic approach to marriages as too idealistic and impractical, we bring to spotlight a closely knit and successful community of Krishna devotees in Mumbai, India. This community was envisioned by Radhanath Swami back in 1986 when he began the Radha Gopinath Temple project in the heart of this metropolis.

Radhanath Swami gave impetus to this idea (of a community) by way of family or marriage counseling. To enable this, over a period of many years, Radhanath Swami personally trained his senior disciples who later took the role of grihasta (family) counselors. Today, twenty-five years later, a strong and vibrant community of grihastas (families) of Radha Gopinath Temple speak volumes of Radhanath Swami’s vision and his guiding principles of successful married life.
